Reflections Quilt

Published:

I have been busy sewing away on my latest pattern test, Reflection by @thatgayquilter for season one of the Real Housewives of Quilting. I am loving the assembly line sewing and chain piecing nature of this pattern!

I actually loved making the triangle blocks for this, all 280+ of them.

When I saw this pattern, I knew I wanted to use bright, happy colours with waves radiating out from the central point. This is the 4th quilt I’ve made in 12 years that I picked all the colours myself, so I wanted a bright modern colour palette that makes me smile.

I love the universe, and all things connected to it. In my head I saw the sky with twinkling stars and me standing below looking up at them. It makes me realise how much there is out there, and also how amazingly diverse the universe is.

I made the design my own by having the colours look like they go on forever, just like the universe.

I love this pattern; it makes me think and wonder about what’s out there and what discoveries await us in space. It’s well written, funny and easy to follow and produces a spectacular result.
