This is How You Quilt It

Published:

Welcome to this hub page for “This is How You Quilt It”. Everything you need to know for the video series will be on this page.

This series is about creating a resource for your quilting studio. When you finish a project and think about how to quit it, you often don’t know where to start. This video series is going to try and help you with this.

You’ll be making 21 quilt samples with all-over quilting designs. They are fast, easy and will look great on almost any quilt. In addition to demonstrating how to sew them, I’ll show what they could look like with example quilts. By using digital mock-ups, you can get a feel for what your quilt could look like.

At the end of the series, we will add binding and make a book out of them. When the time comes to quilt a project, you can get your book out, flip through and pick your design.

Through the series, the designs increase in complexity, but they are achievable for any level of sewing experience. With a bit of planning, prep and following the step-by-step instructions in the video, you can master them quickly.

Each design has a difficulty rating from 1 – 5, with one being easy and five being complex.

I’ll also give each design a “Cuddle” rating based on how dense the quilted design is. One is soft and fluffy, whereas five is stiffer. This is important as you want a soft and fluffy quilt for a baby quilt. However, a densely quilted design can make a wall hang flatter.

I am also excited to announce the accompanying book available to buy later this year. All 21 designs will be in the book with step-by-step instructions and diagrams. I will also be including nine additional new designs. There will be example quilts for every design so you can see what a finished quilt can look like. It will be packed with information and be a great resource in your studio.
